Using ‘Dormant Deals’ to identify salespersons who are not making progress on deals

Dormant deals is a feature which helps the users and managers both get an insight into deals that have been unattended for a set period of time. This feature comes in handy since the system prompts you to put focus on deals that have been idling for a certain period. 

How it works?

Initially, the admin has to define the maximum number of days a deal can stay under a specific stage unattended. If any of the deals exceeds this timeline, such deals will be highlighted in red, For a guide on how to define dormant period, please see this article 

 The system will show a deal as dormant if there‘s no action being performed within the deal (updating fields, notes, etc.) for the defined period. This time period can be set for each stage in your pipeline. For example, you can set 3 days when a deal is in ‘Contacted’ stage to mark a deal as dormant if not worked on. This could be 2 weeks for a deal in the ‘Quoted’ stage, for example.

When the deal becomes dormant, it will be highlighted in red as shown above(The visibility of deals will differ based on the hierarchy of the pipeline). 

Dormant Deals insight for Management

Since the supervisors or managers are above the salespersons in the pipeline hierarchy, dormant deals being triggered for salespersons will also be visible to the managers as well.  

 View Dormant Deals of a Specific Person

In the meantime, if you want to view the dormant deals of a specific salesperson, then you can follow the below steps. 

  1. Click on the Search icon 
  1. Mention the email of the assignee in the Assignee field 
  1. Click Search

Dormant Deals Dashboard Widget

You can add a dormant deal widget within your dashboard in order to get a quick glance. For more information on how to add widget visit here.

 The dormant deals widget will look similar to the image below

You can get a full view summary by clicking on the widget’s full screen icon.  The summary will provide the relevant dormant deals for each stage and the assignee for the deal.
